Mark Soto

Mark Soto is the founder and inspiration behind The Honor Group. First and foremost he is a husband to his wife, Teresa for over 33 years. He is also a father to three children, two of which are active serving military men and a daughter who helps him with his events. Mark was a high school football coach for over 18 years before he decided to retire and focus all his efforts on the development of The Honor Group. It is through his years participating on the football field that Mark received his nickname, Coach.

Mark began his career as an Account Executive for several fortune 500 firms. In early 2001, he began his own business in the banking finance industry. And In a few short years he became one of Sacramento’s highest rated mortgage finance officers. Mark never had the opportunity to serve in the nations armed forces, but he learned quickly regarding the daily hardships these men and woman face when his two sons joined the military as young men right of high school. Through his sons multiple combat deployments, Mark and his family served together and witnessed personally the hardships and stress many combat military families daily persevere. It was during one of his son’s deployments to Afghanistan that he began the nonprofit, Battle for Veterans. This nonprofit still continues today. However, Mark had different goals of building a national nonprofit that involved education and awareness of the needs of our military veterans and in early 2013 he started, The Honor Group.

Mark is a visionary and has worked diligently to recruit a highly talented team that assists him daily with the growth and development of The Honor Group.

Mark is passionate about the expansion of The Honor Group and involves himself daily in being a patriotic mouthpiece regarding our nation’s military men and woman sacrifices. He is currently working on the national development of his rapidly expanding football invitation. This football showcase according to CBS Maxpreps has become one of the best in the nation. This football invitation utilizes high school sports to raise awareness and education to thousands of student athletes, coaches, fans and communities. It is well known that since Mark has started, THE HONOR BOWL that he has personally reached over 75 teams, thousands of student athletes, and hundreds of communities regarding the needs of our military veterans.

Mark is also very instrumental in developing other programs which connects military veterans with employment solutions. He is currently the chief administrator of, The Boys of 3/5 Facebook page, and is also working on several books and the development of a historical video inventory of veteran stories called, Honor Chronicles. The goal of Honor Chronicles is to make sure that WWII, Korean, Vietnam. Iraq, and Afghanistan stories of brotherhood, combat, patriotism and heroism are never forgotten.
