PURPLE HEART DAY (August 7, 2018): Today is the day that we honor the men and woman who have received one of these. Unfortunately, I know to many of these individuals and I know many who would gladly give this medal back instead of missing a limb(s), having shrapnel buried in their body or have a fallen brother or sister breathe air again. The bottom line is if you have received one of these you now have a new mission and that is to live your life boldly, passionately and with purpose and conviction. You have been given a second chance and use this chance to live life to it's fullest! God bless you all, ~Coach

I am so EXCITED this morning! For the past 3 years, I’ve been The Strategic Advisor doing all Communications/ PR/ Marketing for The Honor Group because I believe in everything they do to help Our National Treasures – OUR VETERANS!
Most Americans have heard that each day 22 Veteran’s, that includes active duty, reserve and retired, take their own lives. Folks, the number is believed to be much higher because only 27 states report Veteran Suicides to the CDC. And coroner reports are NOT standardized from County to parish to various areas. Today, The Honor Group is in the HOUSE! Yes, today, The Honor Group is super proud to announce for the 3rd year, they will be part of SOMETHING BIG, SOMETHING GREAT – delivering a message of help, help and healing. The Honor Group is an official sponsor of the upcoming, huge - Placer County Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk and Mental Health Awareness event on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at Railhead Park in Auburn.
The Honor Group is a nationally recognized 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, whose sole purpose is to educate students, coaches and communities about the needs of our military veterans and their families. By providing service and education through athletic events and school assembly’s celebrating the military and the sacrifices they make daily on behalf of this great Nation. The 2018 Honor Bowl™, is managed and produced by The Honor Group, Incorporated. This year, two premiere events will be held, in both Northern and Southern California, with teams participating from many states.
Overall there 10.6 million veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). The vision of the organization is to raise much needed funds to help injured, ill and wounded veterans return to a normal civilian life. One of the ways The Honor Group does this is by purchasing service dogs who are well known to have a positive effect in helping resolve combat related PTS issues. The Honor Group relies on partners and volunteers who share the passion to make a difference. Together, WE can educate, empower and equip!
