School Honor Tours

The Honor Group principles helped to plan, manage and produce two successful School assemblies with a goal to raise awareness of our Armed Forces , past, present and future. These events were underwritten by The California Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) because they believed that our message was important to be heard by our youth. Both of these Honor Tours were coordinated and by THG volunteers and high school administration, student leadership and media departments. We wanted to not only have a buy-in with the content of the event, we wanted a two way hands-on relationship  to make this a success for the school, administration, faculty, community and invited veteran guests.

The second School Honor Tour was held at Lincoln HS, Lincoln CA. We learned that the Fighting Zebras rarely have school assemblies due to busget cuts and gladly embraced the chance to have this experience brought to their campus. Again THG staffers worked closely with the Administration, school leadership and media to plan and eventually stage it to the school and all those choosing to attend. Media did a multi-camera shoot which was streamed live online. Kevin Bracy, Jason Harper and Mark Soto all spoke to the packed Multi Purpose room where dozens of veterans and students were completely in awe with what was being presented.
